Paying it Forward with Twitter

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop

This great inspirational quote by Confucius is my most retweeted quote to date. My Twitter followers can rely on me to send out a handful of inspirational quotes in amongst relevant news links, industry tips, recommended software and the obligatory promo for my company & services.

Retweeting is like the Twitter version of ‘Paying it Forward.’ Sharing something meaningful, useful or inspirational and having it passed along is one small way to help inform or encourage others. The encouragement may be to keep going, stay positive, dream big or help yourself by helping others; no matter the message, it can make a difference in someone’s day. I tweet only those quotes that resonate with me in some way; either I wished I’d come up with them myself or at least they reflect a basic belief that I share.

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop reminds us that achieving a goal first or fastest isn’t always the winning approach. Sometimes, perseverance and determination are what secure the ‘win’ at the end of the day.

Between the recession, the price of gas, the unpredictable dollar and for those of us in British Columbia, the HST, we are facing some challenging times in our business and personal lives. It can be easy to get discouraged or even lose hope. Maybe next time you hear or read something that lifts your spirits or you find helpful, go ahead and Pay it Forward through Twitter, Facebook or just pick up the phone and share it with someone.

There will always be people or other businesses passing you in this race, just remember to keep going until you hit the finish line.

You can find West Coast Way on Twitter and on Facebook.
